“一群人,一辈子,做好一件事。”是富宝集团创始人兼董事长黄进宝时常挂在嘴边的一句话。富宝旗下的Frandiss被业界公认为“手工最好的整体家居品牌”。这份成功,离不开黄进宝所坚持的积极创新,更离不开稳扎稳打,“专人做专事”的匠心精神。而如今,富宝更是积极跨界,与酒店合作开启了新天地。
跨越:大胆创新是发展之道
2017年1月,富宝家居集团旗下Frandiss品牌荣获“中国家居产业2016年度设计创新品牌奖”,这个中国名牌产品又一次取得了辉煌的成就,与富宝家居“大胆创新,锐意进取”的企业精神密不可分。在富宝家居董事长黄进宝看来,只有坚持设计创新,才能使企业走在行业的前沿;只有坚持做出好的产品,才能使企业基业长青。
25年来支持黄进宝推动富宝不断成长的正是这份专注、执着、包容、敢为天下先的精神。1992年,辗转多份工作,几经磨难的黄进宝下决心自己创业,瞄准了沙发市场,从一个小小的手工作坊开始了富宝的传奇之路。25年过去了,富宝已经在家具市场站稳脚跟,并有了良好的口碑。多年来创业经验,让他养成了时时刻刻记录灵感的习惯,与人交谈时,随笔记录下的几个字,不久就变成了他创新的产品或者是市场推广的方案,富宝更是海纳百川,纵揽人才,据介绍,现在的富宝家居拥有国家专利2100余项,员工近2000名,其中有两百余名高级技术和专业的工程技术人员。
近几年来,国内的家具市场遭受到国际品牌和设计师品牌的竞争和挑战,黄进宝分析到欧美家居市场进入稳定开发期,消费年轻化、时尚化趋势明显。市场注重设计、品质,追求差异化。而面对这一市场趋势,快速提升企业的设计创新优势和生产工艺制造水平是最正确的道路,顺应了行业的发展趋势,响应了国家创新发展的号召。对于定位在高端,高品质的富宝来说,未来的发展首先要强化原创设计及国际化设计,提升差异化竞争优势;满足年轻时尚高端消费人群,让产品风格多元化;继续技术创新,强化产品品质的核心竞争力,另外也要在营销方面下功夫,建立符合市场需求的营销体系。
作为香港家私协议主席,黄进宝对于家具市场的发展有着敏锐而宏观的把控力。在他看来,家具从业者面临大机遇大挑战,近几年消费者的消费意识增强,家居市场品牌化道路提速,各个细分领域都会产生市场占有率及品牌影响力俱佳的领军品牌;但同质化竞争较多,消费个性化,差异化需求增强,因此企业必须打造自己特色的核心竞争力。在黄进宝眼中,与其让单个企业“势单力薄”的去面对竞争,不如寻找一个新的“蓝海战略”,做到泛家居,促进同行业、跨行业的合作。因此,黄进宝牵线领头创立了“众家联”,这是以“传统产业+互联网+金融资本”为核心的家具产业供应链整合服务平台,从而把家具供应链、产业链、生态链彻底打通,形成强大的市场资源联盟优势。正如同黄进宝所说,“家具行业没有一样东西是一成不变的,”合作增强才能使有核心竞争力的企业迎来做强做大的最好时机 。
共赢:与酒店合作是发展之路
2016年底,诺铂酒店在上海外滩老码头开业,这家选址在传奇老上海滩的酒店兼具古典与现代,糅合了西方文化的精髓和历史变幻的人文沉淀,而Frandiss的全系列产品,完美的彰显了酒店兼具雅致与时尚的特性。这当然不是富宝集团第一次涉足酒店行业,目前富宝集团与国内外知名酒店保持良好的合作关系,强大的设计团队及完整的设计体系能够根据不同的酒店家具需求进行定制设计、定制生产,既保留富兰帝斯产品独特的设计风格和产品品质,又有效的与酒店家具需求相匹配。而与酒店的合作,也恰好符合了黄进宝所说的,泛家居,跨行业的发展之路。
黄进宝认为酒店家具将成为家居行业的下一个风口,多年来在家具市场当中民用家具占主导地位,而酒店家具仅是依附这个大市场中获得一小部分市场份额。近年来随着人们经济收入水平与生活品质追求的提高,旅游成为了现代人作为休闲放松的最佳活动方式。旅游业的蓬勃发展拉动了酒店业的市场缺口,各个开发中或运营中的旅游胜地都少不了具有特色的度假村或不同层级的酒店。酒店业递增性发展的状态之下,让酒店家具业也快速地得以增长起来。特别是星级酒店对产品的设计品质要求高,订制的需求大,缺乏自有研发体系和产品体系的企业很难满足其需求。这就给有着独立原创设计能力,规范生产体系的品牌企业提供了有效的市场机会,酒店家具市场大有可为。
黄进宝用诺铂酒店的例子分析了Frandiss如何与酒店合作,诺铂酒店改造自老码头民生仓库,位于黄浦江畔,附近曾是黄金荣、杜月笙的仓库,酒店的选址和设计即结合了老上海滩的传奇,也结合了现代时尚元素,营造一种历史交融间的穿越之感。而Frandiss在定制家具的时候,正是考虑到了酒店的独特风格,利用不同的系列,营造了不同复古风情的豪华空间。比如说豪华套房就使用了Frandiss君爵系列,欧美仿古全皮大木架风格,融合了巴洛克、洛可可的精雕细琢和优美曲线。展示了新世纪的审美风范,显露皇家气派的皇室悠远文化品味。
酒店为品牌提供了施展拳脚的空间,黄进宝介绍到在未来富宝将成立专业酒店家具设计研发团队及独立的酒店家具生产线,建立酒店家具产品体系进一步强化与星级酒店的合作关系,并与知名酒店集团缔结战略合作。
智慧:匠心打造是发展之本
黄进宝一直对百年品牌有着深深的情怀,而他的目标也正是把富宝打造成传承百年的民族企业。而天下难事,必做于易;天下大事,必做于细;企业要创百年品牌,就必须把产品质量视为企业的生命线,正如黄进宝所介绍到,富宝的目标就是以原创设计为先导,精益品质为支撑,创新营销为驱动,致力成为高端整体家居第一品牌。
原创设计一直都是Frandiss引以为豪的品牌核心竞争力,黄进宝将Frandiss的品牌理念定位为“专心、专注、专业”,而在他看来Frandiss专注于精英人群生活方式。坚持国际化原创设计,引领家居时尚潮流,满足了目标客户的喜好。正如黄进宝所说:“设计是家居消费的核心驱动力”,富宝更是坚持与国际合作交流,取其精华,兼收并蓄。黄进宝认为,国际化的设计不代表照搬国外的设计,也不仅限于组建国际精英设计师团队,更要用“开放”的理念设计,“把国外的先进设计理念和标准与中国现有的国情、消费习惯、消费需求有效融合,”提升自己的原创设计能力。在2017年3月份的富兰帝斯设计之夜上,富宝在各位国际顶级设计师面前展现了中国原创设计的力量。但在黄进宝看来,富宝仅仅满足于展现设计力量是不够的,更应该在繁华之后,保持专注、宁静,用冷静的头脑厘清企业发展战略,排除干扰与诱惑,先做强再做大。
黄进宝说从第一天做家具开始,他就下定了决心,做就做最好的家具。这25年来工匠精神已经融入到每一位富宝人的血液里。富宝秉承匠心精神,坚持传统手工工艺,同时大胆尝试运用新材料新技术对产品品质精益求精。在黄进宝心中,好的产品需要实用性和艺术性高度的结合并统一。富宝家居集团在现代机器化的生产中坚持沿用中国传统手工技艺,雕刻、涂装、打磨、打铜钉,而这种对手工品质的追求,和Frandiss的理念不谋而合。唯有用温度和匠心打造的家具,方能最好的体现爵士家范。在黄进宝看来,手工打磨过的材料是有生命力的,用艺术感悟每一块材料,用极致成就每一件家具。不仅如此,富宝家居集团还大胆创新并沿用新的手工技艺,诸如手绘、镶嵌、烫铝片等高难度技艺。手工技术是对劳动者结晶的尊重,更是对千年文化的传承。在黄进宝心中,服务与制造同等重要,从第一件产品交到客户手中开始,销售服务并不是一个结束而恰恰是一个开端。很多老客户,正是因多年来良好的销售服务选择富宝。而未来富宝也会尝试利用更便捷的互联网工具提升客户交互满意度。就像黄进宝所说的,富宝追求卓越的脚步永不止步。

THE FURNISHING VISIONARY WITH INGENUITY
Once founded the furnishings manufacturer Fubao, Huang Jinbao remembers all too well his favourite motto: “A bunch of people, be great at one thing over a lifetime.” One of Fubao’s subsidiaries, Frandiss received acclaims in its category. Now, the group has initiated collaborations with hotels.
Establishing Competitive Advantage Through Innovation
January 2017, Frandiss, a Fubao brand achieved a major breakthrough. Its founder and President Huang Jinbao credited it to bold innovation, concentration, persistence and open-mindedness over the last two and a half decades. Back in 1992, Huang took his path to success from a series of unfulfilling jobs and his subsequent investment into sofa manufacturing. Over time, he has taken up the habit of note keeping, a habit that would later enrich his company.
For only the last couple of years, domestic furniture market has been invaded by global power. Huang points out the mechanisms behind it: a stabilised global furniture market tends to embrace fashion and younger consumers. The effort put into design also reflects a trend of product differentiation. Huang drew his conclusion: the correct response to the situation consists in establishing competitive advantage through innovation, and improving manufacturing techniques. For Fubao, boosting originality and going international should be its top priority for future development.
As chairman of Hong Kong Furniture Association, Huang’s vision for his business have been penetrating.Huang asserted that his industry is facing tough challenges but rewards are bigger. Thanks to an elevated consumption willingness among consumers, the furniture industry has got a push towards proper brand management. The same push has also caused considerable non-diverse competition. He tipped furniture manufacturers to adopt a “Blue Ocean” approach (the simultaneous pursuit of differentiation and low cost to open up a new market space and create new demand), uniting fellow manufacturers of furniture or anything.
Therefore, the furnishing visionary preached by example. United Furniture Association’s creation was partly his contribution. The association serves as a platform for the furniture industry’s supply chain, in other words, aggregating competitive advantage through unity.
Huang emphasised that, in furniture industry, nothing is out of the reach of changes.
Next Playground: Hotels
Frandiss, the aforementioned breakthrough brand of Fubao, whose product has been proven to retain both class and style, partnered with Shanghai’s newly opened Nuobo Hotel. Fubao had laid hands on the hotel industry before. The furnishings manufacturer keeps a reputation for their on-demand yet unique design.
Huang predicts furniture’s next playground will be hotels. He already mentioned furniture industry’s challenges and bigger rewards. With better incomes, people tend to travel more, he says, thus filling niches within the hotel industry. As hotels flourishes, a need for hotel furniture will surge simultaneously. Those demanding hotels are going to need large sums of furniture tailored to their demands. Almost only manufacturers that can design for themselves, with plenty of originality, can answer their call and make a fortune of it.
Huang explained more about Frandiss and Nuobo. The latter a new hotel on a pre-existing site – a riverside warehouse once owned by Shanghai’s tycoon figure of the roaring 1920s, Huang Jinrong and Du Yuesheng. The hotel’s connection with these legendary moguls fitted well with its modern-day fashion. Frandiss thought carefully about all these elements, employing Baroque and Rococo design.
He talked about the necessity of assembling a team specialised in hotel furniture design, an assembly line for related products and closer ties with hotels. Now, he says, all the cooperation remains only in their beginning, there is a long way to go from the lack of professionalisation.
Genetics of Craftmanship
Obsessed about century-old brands, he has a vision for Fubao: to put it among them. To keep a brand running for a century, quality has to be worshipped. Fubao insists on original design, driven by innovation, aiming to top high-end furniture market.
Frandiss value originality and insist originality. Lives on it and wins for it. They focus on the elite life and are ready to lead the trend. As Huang puts it, the design is what essentially drives people consuming furniture. Fubao keenly seek international cooperation for inspiration. He made it clear that it doesn’t meant copying at all. Also, design should not, in his belief, be limited to an exclusive team. Design is meant to be open-minded., effective within the context of China’s situation.
March 2017, Frandiss Night of Design, Fubao invited the whole world to have a look at the power of original Chinese design.
For the future, Huang emphasised the importance of a calm head. “Resist temptations. Only expand when you’re strong enough.”
On his first day manufacturing furniture, Huang knew he would make nothing shy of the best. Craftmanship has become part of every Fubao staff’s genetics for the last two and a half decades. When mass producing furniture, Fubao sticks to certain standards only hand production would adopt. He believes that every piece of hand-polished furniture has its own life. What’s more, the manufacturer, to this day of machines, still develops new technique for hand making furniture, an art passed on for millennia.
Huang gives equally high regards to service as to product. Sales is not an end but a beginning. Long-time customers, especially, choose Fubao for its reliable service. Fubao will not stop there.
